Stephens initiates coverage on Starbucks (SBUX +0.1%) with an Overweight rating and $66 price target after seeing shares slip 10% over the last month. The bullish vibe is nothing new on the Street, with 22 out of 28 analysts rating the stock a Buy or Overweight and nary an analyst coming in below a Hold.

- Monday 9:53 AM Archer Consulting sees the premium that arabica coffee commands over robusta beans falling by 50% to its lowest level since 2009. While packaged sellers Kraft and J.M. Smucker have dropped prices already (I, II), mum is the word so far from Starbucks (SBUX +0.5%), Green Mountain Coffee Roasters (GMCR -1.8%), and Peet's Coffee & Tea (PEET -0.3%). [Consumer]
- Friday 1:30 PM Coffee sellers such as Starbucks (SBUX +0.6%), Green Mountain Coffee Roasters (GMCR +1.1%) and Peet's Coffee & Tea (PEET +0.1%) may try to get some mileage out of a new paper published in the New England Journal of Medicine finding coffee drinkers without pre-existing medical conditions live longer than non-drinkers of the beverage. The conclusions from the 10-year study are also backed up in part by scientific analysis on the seemingly-positive effects of coffee on the risks of diabetes. [Consumer]
- Thursday 1:18 PM Though Panera Bread (PNRA -2.5%) finds that its decision to offer free Wi-Fi to customers was a big boost to revenue as it beat rivals to the punch, it now struggles to keep up with the burdens of the demand. While charging a fee for access is unlikely to sail smoothly with customers, Piper Nicole Miller Regan says tying premium Wi-Fi to the firm's loyalty program makes sense. The bigger question: Will free Wi-Fi hangouts such as PNRA, SBUX, and MCD lose revenue if truly unlimited mobile data plans take off? [Consumer]
