      FuzzyPop,

You're absolutely right - that was an oversight. I've added it in.

      Watching the Lehman Fireworks
      Hi Squashnut,

There were indeed rumors. Investors communicate through channels other than web pages, and in this case, it was not possible to link to the source - a closed-circuit traders group.

We removed the post because we felt that without the ability to link to a source people could read, it was of limited value.

Having said that, we do at times post information we feel is important to investors, even when there are no publicly available sources to link to. Often the information later hits the public web, at which point we make an effort to go back and link to it.

I imagine readers find some use in knowing what rumors are circulating in the vast and busy rumor mills of Wall Street. As always, they should be taken for what they are - rumors - not fact.

      Criminal Past Haunts Bidz.com - Barron's
This may be stating the obvious, but all Rachael's article does is briefly summarize Bill Alpert's lengthy investigative article. It's beyond the scope of Seeking Alpha's Barron's summaries to thoroughly develop each point in the article - that's why we link to the full Barron's article.

Whether you choose to agree or take issue with Barron's research, our position is that providing the summaries is useful for investors who want to know what this week's Barron's has to say.

Hi folks. An update: Rachael came on board with SA recently and is helping out with some of the duties, including filling in with the WSB when I'm out. This week was a training-in period for her. I think you'll agree her writing is superb, and she's a great addition to the team - not to speak of the mug shot 'upgrade.'

Which reminds me: We're looking to hire a full-time, detail-oriented U.S.-based market follower with superb writing and blogging skills - mainly to help with our new Market Currents real-time blog. If you're interested, or can think of anyone, send me an email at eli [at] seekingalpha [dot] com.

Hi Lee99. According to Bloomberg it was a miss:

      www.bloomberg.com/apps...

Shares are down 4%, so FWIW it seems that's how the market is taking it too.

PJ568, thanks for your feedback. We largely report adjusted earnings. This is due to the fact that analyst consensus estimates, which are the gauge by which many judge whether a given company has beaten or missed expectations, are formulated based on adjusted earnings.
